Behind the name is Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and creative visionary Erik Paul Ilyin-Chirkoff, an artist whose music was shaped not by overnight success, but by years of extraordinary highs, devastating lows, and an unwavering decision to keep moving forward.
Music has been part of Erik's life since childhood, but the story of EPICWORLD truly began when life stopped going according to plan.
Believing he was investing in a future that would change the world, Erik committed everything he had to a startup he deeply believed in. When the venture collapsed, so did the life he had carefully built. Financial ruin, homelessness, emotional exhaustion, and a profound identity crisis followed. What came next included battles with mental health, hospitalization, and the difficult process of rebuilding from the ground up.
Many People Would Have Let That Story Define Them.
Instead, Erik decided it would become the foundation of his art.
That decision gave birth to EPICWORLD—not simply as a stage name, but as a philosophy.
EPICWORLD represents the belief that our greatest setbacks can become the beginning of our greatest purpose. It exists for people chasing impossible dreams, recovering from failure, overcoming anxiety, rebuilding after loss, or simply searching for hope during difficult seasons of life.
Recovery Became More Than Surviving.
It Became A Study.
After achieving sobriety and rebuilding stability in 2025, Erik immersed himself in Harvard University's renowned CS50 computer science program, exploring whether software engineering was the path he was meant to pursue. By the end of the course, he had earned the certificate but discovered something even more valuable: while he enjoyed solving problems, his passion wasn't building software—it was helping people rebuild themselves.
That Realization Became The Next Turning Point.
In the Spring of 2026
Erik discovered a seven-day training led by Australian life coach Luke Hawkins, focused on belief systems, trauma healing, and lasting personal transformation. Much of what he learned echoed the neuro-linguistic programming principles he had already used during his own recovery while hospitalized in 2024, drawing inspiration from Tony Robbins' Unlimited Power. For the first time, the pieces of his journey fit together. Music had given him a voice. Personal transformation had given him a mission.
Since then, Erik has dedicated himself to the study of Neuro Transformational Therapy while simultaneously building EPICWORLD as both a music brand and a movement. In October 2026, he continues that journey in Sydney, Australia, training directly under Luke Hawkins to become a certified Neuro Transformational Therapy Coach.
